Sri Lankan food is glorious, diverse and full of intense exotic flavour. 

 

Drawing on a rich cultural history with Portuguese, Dutch and British influences married with abundant produce from this fertile land, Sri Lankan food has developed into a diverse overabundance of dishes each distinctive in its character, and all crammed with flavour and zest.  Spicy it most certainly is, but you can taste each element of the dish in its own right.  A simple meal of Red Lentil Curry and rice would satisfy any hungry worker, or a banquet of a dozen or more dishes would grace any celebration.
